Racing Away

Sal's sculpture, Racing Away, was delivered to Royal Caribbean and was installed on their cruise ship, "Mariner of the Seas" in fall of 2003. The ship sails out of Port Canaveral, Florida. The sculpture was crated at Sal's studio in Wisconsin and trucked to Miami where it was placed in a metal shipping container. The container was then placed on a cargo ship and sent overseas to Turku, Finland where Mariner was being built. Over one year in the making, a long journey from concept to finished art is now complete. The sculpture really can't be missed when you're climbing the forward stairs on deck 8. |
